Pre-heat oven broiler to low.

Prepare the Jus

In a saucepan over medium heat, mix together...

  • 1 can (10.5 oz) French onion soup
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) beef consommé
  • 10.5 oz water (use the empty soup can to measure)

Bring to a simmer, then add to the broth to warm through...

  • 14 oz thinly sliced roast beef

Prepare Buns

Arrange (open-faced) on a large baking sheet...

  • 6 split French sub buns

Broil until the insides are lightly toasted. Then remove from the oven and layer on...

  • 12 slices provolone cheese (overlapping as necessary)

Return to the broiler until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Final Assembly

Divide the warm roast beef among the buns using tongs and ladle the remaining hot broth into individual ramekins for dipping.

Serve hot and enjoy!
