  • 2 cups crushed Cheez-it crackers
  • 4 oz cheddar jack, shredded

Pre-heat oven to 400º F

Add to a large skillet over medium high heat...

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup fresh grated onion
  • 1 tsp mustard powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 tbsp flour

Stir until it forms a roux and cook it for 1-2 minutes. Then slowly add in while whisking...

  • 3 cups whole milk

Once a sauce has formed add in...

  • 16 oz white American Cheese, shredded
  • 8 oz medium yellow cheddar, shredded
  • 8 oz sharp white cheddar, shredded
  • 1 lb large elbow macaroni, cooked according to package directions

Add mixture to a 9x13 baking dish then top with...

  • 2 cups crushed Cheez-it crackers
  • 4 oz cheddar jack, shredded

Bake in the oven for 20 minutes.

Serve hot, and enjoy!

Wowzers, this mac and cheese is a definite contender for one of the best mac and cheese recipes I've made. The combination of the white American cheese and cheddars with the seasonings — all toppped with that delicious cheez-it crust. And just the right amount of heat. You must try this one out!
