Sweet Rolls

Combine in a microwave safe bowl...

  • 1 cup milk
  • 6 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 6 tbsp sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt

Microwave for 30 to 60 seconds until milk has warmed and butter has melted, then stir to dissolve the sugar.

In a stand mixer add the milk mixture along with...

  • 1/4 cup warm water
  • 2 1/4 tsp yeast
  • 1 large egg, lightly whisked

Mix for 2 minutes at medium speed, then slowly add...

  • 3 1/2 cups all purpose flour

Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 3-4 minutes.

Place dough ball into a greased bowl, cover and let rise for 1-2 hours until doubled.

Preheat oven to 350ºF

Roll dough into a 1" thick rectangle, then cut into 12-15 two inch squares. Take each square and form into a flattened mini ball.

Place rolls onto a greased sheet pan about 1 inch apart. Cover and let rise another 30 minutes until dough is puffy.

Bake 12-15 minutes until golden brown.

Cinnamon Butter

Mix together until combined...

  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

Serve freshly baked rolls alongside a small bowl of the cinnamon butter. Enjoy!

One of the best things about going to a steakhouse are the sweet rolls with cinnamon butter. This recipe is inspired by those rolls. Eat them straight out of the oven when they're still warm and it's one of the greatest things. Everyone loved these. Good reheated as well!
