Pre-heat oven to 350º F

Saute over high heat in a large skillet...

When browned on all sides, remove chicken and set aside. Then add...

  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1/2 cup butter

When onions have softened and turned translucent add...

  • 1/2 cup flour

Mix together until a roux forms. Then add...

  • 12 oz chicken broth
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper

When sauce has started to thicken remove from heat and add the cooked chicken back and...

  • 1/2 lb mixed vegetables (carrots, beans, peas, corn)

Transfer mixture to a 9x13 inch casserole dish.

Form the top crust by mixing together...

  • 2/3 cups butter, softened
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 tsp celery seed
  • 1/4 cup water

When dough has formed roll out to cover the surface of your casserole dish.

Bake in the oven for 30 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool for a few minutes, then serve and enjoy!
