A perfectly balanced, high-flavor steak marinade. Built on a savory foundation of soy sauce, Worcestershire, garlic, and brown sugar with a punch of warm spice.
Prep Steps
- 4 cloves garlic {do:mince}
The Marinade
In a bowl or large measuring cup, whisk together until smooth...
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 2 tbsp white vinegar
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp spicy brown mustard
- 1 tbsp hot sauce
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp ground cumin
Season with salt and pepper.
Note: Apple cider vinegar works in place of the white vinegar, and dijon in place of the spicy brown mustard. Add more hot sauce if you like it hotter.
Marinate
Pour the marinade over in a gallon zip-top bag or shallow dish, turning to coat...
- 2 1/2 lbs steak, such as ribeye, NY strip, sirloin or flank
Refrigerate at least 2 hours, or up to 24 hours for the deepest flavor.
Cook
Lift the steak out of the marinade and grill or pan-sear over high heat to the doneness you like. Rest 5 minutes before slicing.
