Create a batch of Movie Theatre Popcorn.

Add prepared popcorn to an extra large mixing bowl and set aside.

In a medium saucepan over medium heat add...

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup corn syrup

Stir very frequently until mixture comes to a rolling boil and the mixture is clear, then reduce heat to a simmer and add...

  • 1 cup smooth peanut butter
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract

Stir the mixture until very smooth. Immediately drizzle evenly over the popcorn, stirring constantly to ensure all pieces are coated.

When the mixture has cooled slightly but is still warm, lightly wet your hands to help prevent sticking. Working quickly, gather the coated popcorn and press into uniform, softball-sized balls.

Note: Use low to medium pressure when pressing the balls together so they're not too dense or tightly packed when finally set.

Serve and enjoy!

These peanut butter popcorn balls have been a family tradition for at least four decades— which is my entire life, as much as I wish that weren't the case. But they're delicious and can be wrapped up in cling wrap and put into stockings or gift baskets!
