Mix well and remove from heat. In a large baking dish, layer the ingredients in the following order...

  • 4 cups crushed tortilla chips
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • the prepared meat mixture
  • 2 cups sour cream
  • 1/2 cup chopped green onions
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Note: Layering cheese between the chips and meat creates a moisture barrier, ensuring the chips stay crunchy.

Bake for 25-30 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly (optional: Broil on high for 2–3 minutes to further brown the cheese).

Garnish with extra green onions and serve hot. Enjoy!
