In a small saucepan with boiling water add...

  • 1/2 cup quick cook black tapioca pearls
  • 1 tbsp sugar (optional)

When boba floats to the surface after around 5 minutes, drain, remove from heat and set aside.

In a small sauce pan, bring water to a boil and prepare tea using...

  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1 family size Lipton black tea bags (or 3 regular bags)

Remove from heat, cover and let steep for 5 minutes.

Make a simple brown sugar syrup by bringing to a boil in a small sauce pan...

  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

Assemble your drink

Divide equally between two tall 12oz glasses...

  • prepared tapioca pearls
  • brown sugar syrup
  • brewed black tea
  • ice filled to the top of the glass
  • 2/3 cup whole milk

Note: For a "Blondie" variant, leave out the tea and just add milk to the simple syrup and boba. You can also use any flavored coffee syrup in place of the brown sugar syrup for a myriad of different flavor options.
