Preheat oven to 350º F
Cut into 1 inch cubes…
- 1 loaf french bread
In a stand mixer, mix together until smooth…
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 2 tbsp confectioners sugar
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
Fold cheese mixture into the bread chunks until all the chunks are covered.
Grease a 9x13 inch casserole dish and spread mixture evenly into it.
Mix together…
- 8 large eggs
- 2 1/4 cups milk
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 2/3 cup brown sugar
Pour mixture into the casserole dish being sure to cover all the bread.
Mix together crumb topping (use a pastry blender if needed to cut the butter in)…
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 8 tbsp unsalted butter
When crumb topping is combined sprinkle evenly over the casserole.
Bake for 45-50 minutes.
Remove from oven and serve. Top with a drizzle of maple syrup if desired. Enjoy!
